Ours is a sixty-six year old socio-cultural organization dedicated to the strengthening of cultural roots of the society and promotion of enlightened citizenship. Our Institute was founded in 1945 by the late Padma Bhushan Dr. D. V. Gundappa, doyen of Kannada literature and a savant who strove for over seven decades for the well-being of the society. He was a close collaborator of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Sri C. Rajagopalachari and other distinguished personages of that generation.

We conduct educative and popular programmes round the year of which most are naturally in Kannada.

However, for the benefit of those who are not able to follow Kannada, a series of talks in six parts, by Shatavadhani Dr. R. Ganesh on “The Foundations of Indian Culture” was organized at GIPA in August-September 2011 (20th, 21st, 27th, 28th August and 3rd and 4th September). We request you to help us in up-grading our Sound System in particular and towards activities of the Institute in general. We need the following equipments:
